About Junkemon Duel Arena
A free turn based duel game that runs in a web browser. You pick one of seven fighters and battle an opponent using moves, status effects and an ultimate, with nothing to download and no account to create.
How the clarity and chaos system works
Every fighter carries two resources. Clarity powers controlled, reliable moves. Chaos builds as the fight goes on and powers bigger and less predictable ones. Ultimates cost one or both, so the decision is whether to spend now on something safe or bank it for something that might swing the whole match.
That tension is the whole game. Playing entirely on clarity is safe and slow and usually loses to a fighter who banked chaos. Playing entirely on chaos is spectacular and frequently ends with you unconscious on the floor of the arena.
The seven fighters
| Fighter | Plays like |
|---|---|
| Crack Fairy | Fast and evasive. Hard to pin down, falls over if you land anything. |
| Meth Wizard | Enormous burst damage and disruption. Has been awake a while. |
| Coke Bard | Buffs, debuffs and relentless pressure. Convinced this is their story. |
| Drunken Dwarf | Armored and slow. Absorbs punishment and returns it with interest. |
| Benzo Elf | Slows, sedates and controls the pace. Extremely calm. Possibly too calm. |
| Heroin Gnome | Sustain and regeneration. Outlasts rather than outfights. |
| Ass Goblin | Chaos and unpredictable effects. Nobody, including the goblin, knows what happens next. |

How a match actually plays
A duel runs in turns. On yours you pick a move, and each move costs clarity, chaos, or nothing at all. Cheap moves are dependable and rarely decisive. The expensive ones swing matches and occasionally backfire, which is the point. Status effects stack on top: confusion, haste, shields, taunts, withdrawal, blackout. A fight is usually decided by whoever manages their two resources better rather than by whoever has the bigger numbers.
Cooldowns keep the strongest moves from being spammed, so an ultimate is a decision about timing rather than a button you hold down. Fire it early to stop a run of damage, or hold it and risk not getting the chance. Most losses come from holding it one turn too long.
Why the fighters are built this way
Each of the seven is deliberately good at one thing and bad at something else, so no single pick is correct. Crack Fairy dodges almost everything until something lands. Drunken Dwarf cannot dodge at all and does not need to. Benzo Elf wins by making the fight take longer than the opponent has patience for, which is either a strategy or a personality depending on who you ask.
The result is that the matchup matters more than the fighter. A pick that is miserable into one opponent is dominant into another, and learning which is which is most of the game.
A note on the humor
Junkemon is a comedic parody. The fighters are exaggerated cartoons and the writing leans into that. It is not aimed at children and it is not making light of addiction so much as making fun of the way people describe their worst decisions afterward.
